Specialized

Specialized's mission is to make bikes that allow every rider, regardless of orientation, to enjoy their desired experience even more.

2006 was the 25th anniversary of the Stumpjumper, the world's first mountain bike introduced by Specialized. Since then, Specialized has led the biking industry, using new materials like carbon and metal matrix, and changing standard biking geometry to produce bikes with the perfect balance of quickness and dependability. In 1994, Specialized created FSR technology and since then have been refining both hardtail and full suspension designs. Add to that a full-carbon hardtail, and Brain technology including Brain Fade, you've got a company that is leading the mountain biking industry.

In addition to mountain biking technology, Specialized continues its mission to serve riders of all stripes. Their newest family of Tricross Freeroad bikes is the latest expression of Specialized's belief in pinpointing performance for a specific experience. For competitive roadies, the new Tour de France tested Tarmac SL is the lightest frame, fork, and crank combination in the world. It also has the best vertical compliance and lateral and torsional rigidity in its class.

Electra/Townie

At Electra, the way they think shows in everything they do and in every bicycle they create. Electra has stood the test of time by staying true to their commitment to bring customers the finest cruiser and comfort bikes in the world. They have always gone with their instincts, to marry great designs with the best technology available and create bikes that are meant to be enjoyed, ridden and treasured, not just admired. Their technical data is proof positive that an Electra is more than just a pretty face.

Electra's "original modern cruisers" are an evolution of the designs that defined America in the 1940s and 50s. They kept the cool stuff, attitude and style; and discarded the bad stuff, the weight and lack of maneuverability. They chose lightweight materials, engineered a better frame and then added state-of-the-art components.

By mixing the comfortable, laid-back seating position of the odd, but fast recumbent with smart and swoopy curved cruisers, Electra created the next generation of bikes – the Townies. Because of their unique design and adjustability, the Townie can fit a wide range of different-sized riders with only one frame size.

Townies also have managed to solve one of the greatest inherent problems in bicycles today, the fear-of-bikes factor. This same fear is a barrier to cycling and a healthy lifestyle for far too many folks out there. To combat this, Townies have employed Flat Foot Technology TM, lowering the center of gravity and putting the pedals forward to allow you proper leg extension and the ability to put your feet on the ground.

Townies also offer complete gearing, from the simplicity of a one- or three-speed up to a 21 or 24 for a sportier ride.

Salsa Cycles

Salsa Cycles started in 1981 in Petaluma, CA with the birth of the Pepperman.

During the 90s, many small biking companies disappeared by the wayside, but in 1997, Salsa was purchased by Steve Flagg and Mary Henrickson, owners of Quality Bicycle Products, and eventually moved to Minnesota. Many thought that this was the end of Salsa Cycles, but the new owners were bike people surrounded by an even more bike people: commuters, roadies, DH'ers, ex-messengers and more. There was a passion for cycling in Minnesota too, even with six months of winter.

The new ownership allowed the birth of many exciting Salsa products, like the Shaft seatpost and Delgado and Gordo rims. Instead of remaining ideas terminally trapped in the computer vortex, they made it into production and onto the market.

Today, Salsa continues to offer many of those same historical Salsa products like the Ala Carte and La Raza frames, CroMoto stems, and Flip-Off skewers. They've also expanded their offerings by moving into new materials like Scandium and carbon fiber, and by designing innovative products that answer the needs of cycling enthusiasts everywhere.

True passion for cycling remains the foundation of Salsa Cycles, just as it always has been.
