The Hayward/Cable area is a great place to visit, not only for its world-class events and beautiful lakes and scenery, but also for its renowned trail systems.
CAMBA, the Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association, has created 300 miles of marked and mapped routes through a wilderness of striking beauty and peaceful solitude. The trails lie in and around the beautiful Chequamegon National Forest as well as in Bayfield and Sawyer County Forests – nearly one million acres in which to ride. Over approximately 1,600 square miles there are six clusters of 40 to 100 miles, each with one or more trailheads.
CAMBA’s user-friendly system is designed to encourage off-road bicyclists to enjoy and explore the Chequamegon area. The routes follow a variety of paths, including logging roads, fire lanes, snowmobile trails, ski trails and single and double track trails. The terrain lends itself to riders of all abilities, from beginners to expert. There are no paved bike paths in the system.
