Rex's well-known and trusted basic grip wax line contains some classics, which have been in production for over 50 years! Universal Tar: -1/-25°C (-13/30°F) Excellent wax for skiers who are looking for simplicity in their waxing, as well as for racing skiers. Despite it’s "Universal" name it's a fully proven race wax, especially at mild frosts 18/30°F (-1/-8°C). Light Green: -8/-15°C (5/18°F) The most popular Rex wax for cold conditions. On new snow provides a good grip at around -6°C. Use it in race waxing as a coating for softer waxes. Blue: -2/-8°C (18/28°F) The king of grip waxes! A classic that has been in production for decades, still remaining relevant. In Finland Rex Blue has gained a legendary reputation, just ask any finnish skier! It is used widely as a universal grip wax on cold temperatures. Its grip and glide properties can be adjusted by the thickness of the wax layer. The colder the weather, the thinner the layer. Blue Special: -1/-4°C (25/34°F) Another Rex-legend. A bit softer and more gripping than Blue (115) for milder frosts. Provides a good grip even on hard and worn track. Purple: 0/-2°C (28/32°F) Despite of its purple color, this is a pure below-zero-temperature wax, which is used in race waxing as a coating for PowerGrip Green. A secure choice for recreational skiers. Red: +1/-1°C (30/34°F) Red kick wax for zero conditions. The GS wax series from Vauhti is a synthetic compound that is fluoro free. GS Green: Cold conditions make for the best classic skiing, and GS Green is the kick wax for the job when temps are down. Depending on the conditions choose one that fits the temp range you will be skiing in. The Warm Version is for temps 10 to 40F. To use, simply remove any old wax from your ski base. As you iron in both waxes, they will mix together, and you will be ready for the trail or mountain. Moly will help keep your base clean by reducing electrostatic friction, aka “static cling”. With a reduction in electrostatic build up on the bottom of the ski, you will encounter a serious reduction in environmental friction from dirt, bark, or other contaminates you find on the trail. When does one use a Molybdenum Additive? When the snow is fine-grained the temperatures are cold, humidity is low and the air is dry. Pure Race liquid glide waxes are intended specifically for competitive skiers and demanding active skiers. Requires a sharp, fresh scraper to scrape effectively. SG 8 BLUE ( 10F to 20): A great basic glider for training and racing when humidity is <55%. SG 6 PURPLE (20F to 27F): A great basic glider for training and racing when humidity is <55%.

RCR50 Is a klister every racer should have in their box. It is a modified version of our Universal wide intended for high humidity, glazing tracks and artificial snow from 20F up to 38F. This wax is used consistently by several World Cup teams as well as the Start Finland domestic racing service.

One of the few truly universal waxes available. It is able to glide in cold temperatures and kick when the snow warms up. This wax outperforms other klisters in fresh snow conditions while simultaneously is able to kick in transformed ice crystals. In racing, this wax can be used as a mix with another klister, or under a cover wax. The versatility of this mix is in part due to its composition of klister raw materials, terva(tar), and aluminum. In a thick application, the tar acts as a cusion layer to provide kick on rounded and transformed ice crystals. Application: Begin with a thin application of base klister or base klister spray. Then apply Universal Klister in a chevron pattern along the kick zone of your ski. Tech tip: apply a thin layer for fresh snow conditions, and a thicker layer for transformed snow conditions. Rub in an even layer with your thumb or synthetic cork.
