Skier Profile: 4 & 5
New Moon Staff:
The Fischer Cold A5 bases traditionally received mixed reviews. Often fast but speeds dropping off after 10-20km of skiing. This new base from Fischer affords the wonderful fast feel in cold snow but holds speed more durably for long sessions and marathon races. Excellent performance in the all around 610 model. Very little resistance in edge pressure in climbing. Very light tips and tails.
From the Manufacturer:
The Speedmax 100He Skate Cold 610 is the top model with a new race design and, as the RACE CODE seal confirms, has proven itself many times on the World Cup. This ski is equipped with innovative Cold Base Bonding technology for optimal wax absorption and grindability as well as liquid-waxable Gliding Sidewalls for reduced friction. For more speed, the Speedmax 100HE Cold 610 has a weight of just 950 grams, making it the lightest and fastest racing ski from Fischer. To protect the base, a thin layer of wax is applied to the skis which must be removed and brushed off before the first use. The Cold version is optimized for use at 28°F (-2°C) and colder.
Medium contact areas combined with tip and tail splay for an ideal balance between stability and agility.
