New Moon Non-Fluoro Premium Glide Waxing Service for Birkie Events

We will accept skis up until 10 AM the day before your event for our premium wax service. Skis will be available for pickup after 3 PM each day. You may opt-in to receive a text when they are finished. Just to remind you, we do not receive UPS or FedEx deliveries on Saturday and Sunday if shipping.
If skis are dropped off after 10 AM prior to your race day, we will do our best to provide the best wax service possible but can not guarantee it will be the same as our premium race wax service. Birkie week is hectic at the shop, and we have a limited number of wax techs onsite as the team does premium wax service at a different location to allow for prep and the volume of skis that need to be waxed for race day.
Race wax drop-off schedule for Birkie Week:
Tuesday, Feb 21, for the American Birkebeiner, Kortelopet & Prince Haakon Open Track (Wednesday, Feb 22, 2023)
Thursday, Feb 23, for the Kortelopet and Prince Haakon Classic and Skate Races (Friday, Feb 24, 2023)
Friday, Feb 24, for the American Birkebeiner Classic and Skate Races (Saturday, Feb 25, 2023)
Power to the podium with the fastest possible skis with New Moon's Waxing Service for Birkie®. Our wax techs carefully study the snow conditions and test waxes to provide you with World-Cup grade performance. All skis are carefully cleaned and prepared with the fastest race waxes available. Only after the best possible combination is found do we proceed with your final race-day application.
As a US Ski & Snowboard sanctioned event, no fluoro wax will be allowed at the 2023 Birkie events. USSA conducts fluoro testing. Note to Classic Skiers: Please ensure all kick wax is removed before drop off to avoid additional charges.
Here are a few simple steps to follow:
1) Pre-order Birkie Events Wax Service here on this page.
2) Print your order confirmation and secure it to your skis with masking tape.
3) Mark your skis with your name and phone # on masking tape.
4) Drop your skis off at New Moon or carefully pack, insure, and ship your skis to New Moon Birkie Wax Service, 15569 US Hwy 63, Hayward, WI 54843
5) Allow sufficient travel or transit time, so your skis arrive on time.
Skis will not be delivered to the start area on race day.
If you wish to have New Moon ship your skis back to you post-race, please make arrangements with us during your Birkie visit.

Skin Ski Treatment $15: For Classic Skin skis. Includes skin pattern cleaning and high-performance glide anti-icing and glide treatment applied to the skin pattern. Important for all snow conditions, but vital for dirty or wet snow conditions.
Binder Wax $35: For Waxable Classic skis only. Includes all necessary kick zone prep and binder layers. Final race-day kick wax will not be applied. Final kick wax application is the skier'sresponsibility. Common binder choices for our Birkie Wax Service include Toko Base Green and Swix VG35 or klister binder if appropriate. Very important - Please following notes: For classic binder wax customers, please mark your kick zone. Skiers will need apply their final kick wax and carry a back-up kick wax or two and a cork during the race to accommodate changing conditions or if more kick is needed.
