The Speedmax 9 is an all new design, there are not many similarities, except for a similar colorway, but that’s kinda where it stops. Here’s my take… I found the external dual Boa to be an amazing upgrade, just too easy. The boot opens wide for entry, then closes up nice and snug. It’s very easy and quick to get on/off. It’s a race fit & feel, very stiff sole and carbon tub around heel. The new molded carbon cuff is interesting, somewhat minimal, but I like that. The size runs true, but I did notice it did have just a tad more wiggle room (for me) when compared to previous model. No doubt that it’s worthy of top level boot status.
