Ski Wax

Keep your skins skis from grinding to a halt when wet snow, around freezing, can cause the skis to ice up so that Skin skis can be problematic in wet or dirty snow as the snow can stick to the skin and cause that nasty situation of a ski that doesn't grip but also doesn't glide. Skin inserts need occasional treatment to resist this situation and of course Swix has come up with a solution that is easy to use and performs admirably. Application: Rub on to the skin using a back and forth motion to coat the hairs of the skin. Dry for 30 min. before skiing or applying Swix Skin Boost.

The TSB series are gliders for competition that work extremely well, and are highly durable, on dirty snow and in dry, high friction conditions. This is achieved thanks to the black solid lubricant additive that reduces friction and absorbs less dirt in contaminated snow. Its hardness makes it convenient to work and highly durable. TSB series can be used as a race wax alone or as a base for top coats. -TS5B - 0/14F is the hardest wax in the TSB line and is a great choice in cold conditions. Recommended iron temp.: 160°C (320°F) -TS6B - 10/21F is the second hardest wax in the TSB line and is a great choice in typical winter conditions. Recommended iron temp.: 155°C (311°F). -TS7B - 17/28F is a versatile wax suited for normal winter conditions below the freezing point. It has shown good properties on artificial snow in addition to natural, transformed older snow. Recommended iron temp: 150°C (302°F). -TS8B - 24/39F is made harder than the std TS8. Excellent results in artificial snow as well as natural transformed older snow, especially noticeable when used alone. Recommended iron temp: 150°C (302°F). -TS10B - 32/50F is made harder than the std. Excellent results in artificial snow as well as natural transformed older snow, especially noticeable when used alone. Recommended iron temp: 165°C (329°F). APPLICATION The speed of the iron should be approx. 8-10 sec. on a skating ski. The wax can be re-heated after cooling to room temperature (10 min) for better durability. Scraping after approx. one minute. Important to have a good iron to get an efficient melting of the wax.

Swix TSP5 Turquoise -10 / -15 40g. (5ºF-14ºF) TSP5 is the hardest powder in the TSP line and is an excellent choice in cold conditions, both for cross-country and alpine. It is a favorite among servicemen due to its superior durability and dry friction properties. It is made as a powder to make it easier to apply, without compromising the sliding properties. For fresh snow, converted snow and artificial snow. TSP05 can be used as a racing powder alone or as a base for toppings. Recommended lubricating iron temperature: 180-200 ° C TSP6 is a very good powder for both alpine and cross country, which has shown great performance on artificial snow in addition to natural snow. Universal silver klister for recreational and racing skiers. Gives a great kick. K21S UNI SILVER KLISTER 3C TO -5C (23°F to 38°F) K22 UNI VM KLISTER -3C TO 10C (27°F to 50°F)

Blue (14/28F new) (5/23F old) Excellent in the teens and low twenties, especially with low humidity. If tracks are slippery, use V40 Blue Extra. Blue Extra (19/30F new) (12/27F old) One of the true classics. Nearly universal performance in sub-freezing temps. Apply thinner for temps below 20F. A must-have for any classic skier. Green (5/18F new) (0/12F old) Swix's standard cold kicker. Works reliably down below zero. Easily covered if temps warm up beyond the green temp range. Polar (-22/5F new snow) (-12/10F old) An old fave of the die-hard cold weather crowd. Applies much easier at room temp. Be sure to cork to a glassy, smooth surface. Apply long if tracks are soft or slippery. Red/Silver (32/38F new) (30/34F old) Very tacky for very wet and fresh snow min the 30s and 40s. May need to be covered if icing is a problem. Special Red (28/34F) A popular choice for many classic skiers. Good for those wet days with fresh snow that is not quite klister snow. One of the essential kick waxes. Violet (32F new) (27/30F old) For damp, sticky snow right at freezing. Prone to icing if snow is fresh. Cover with Rex Hydrex if icing is a problem. Violet Special (27/32F new) (21/28F old) For moist snow beginning to get sticky and damp. Cover with some blue extra if icing occurs.

Durable base wax! Base kick wax for transformed and new snow. Improved wear on kick wax. To be used as first layer for all hard waxes in new fallen snow, transformed fine-grained snow and old snow from +1°C to -20°C (30°F to -4°F). Rub on and iron in with a waxing iron (110°C/230°F). Cork smooth. Base wax is much easier to apply when it is cold. Store it in the fridge or in the snow before application.

Durable base binder for added durability. Base binders are essential for long outings or marathons. Apply to a clean kick zone by touching stick to a warm wax iron and then dabbing to the ski. Warm again on ski with iron and cork out to a smooth finish. Let cool before applying he wax of the day.

Old/partly transformed snow from -1°C to -6°C (30°F to 21°F). Purple kick wax designed for conditions a few degrees below the freezing point. Provides perfect kick until you experience moderate shiny tracks. The wax contains a new additive designed to impart maximum lubricity. This improves the stick-slip properties of the wax and gives an excellent feeling. V55 PRO VIOLET For new and new fallen fine-grained snow from 1°C to -2°C (34°F to 28°F). Start Anti Ice Glider is liquid icing prevent glider created especially for no wax skis based on nanotechnology. Start Ultra Gel is totally new kind of glide wax. Ultra glide provides better, long lasting glide than usual wax. Start Ultra gel is HC-solvent free and prevents ski base drying.

One of the few truly universal waxes available. It is able to glide in cold temperatures and kick when the snow warms up. This wax outperforms other klisters in fresh snow conditions while simultaneously is able to kick in transformed ice crystals. In racing, this wax can be used as a mix with another klister, or under a cover wax. The versatility of this mix is in part due to its composition of klister raw materials, terva(tar), and aluminum. The aluminum additive prevents the formation of ice around freezing, when snow is in transition between solid and liquid state. The special ingredient is the terva which enables the wax to kick in warm conditions and remain fast on cold snow. The tar that is used in Uni Wide is created through the dry distillation of Finnish pine trees. What remains is a unqiue thermoplastic that transforms with changes in temperature. In a thin application, the tar hardens and creates a shell to protect from fresh ice crystals. In a thick application, the tar acts as a cusion layer to provide kick on rounded and transformed ice crystals. Application: Begin with a thin application of base klister or base klister spray. Then apply Universal Klister in a chevron pattern along the kick zone of your ski. Tech tip: apply a thin layer for fresh snow conditions, and a thicker layer for transformed snow conditions. Rub in an even layer with your thumb or synthetic cork. When racing, allow the skis to sit base down on the snow for a brief period of time to allow the hard shell to form, remove any excess snow sticking to the base and go ski.

We simply cannot say enough about this wax. Racing Liquid Warm -3C to 0C 26F to 32F RLW is a versatile warm solution especially when the humidity remains below 50%.

SPECIAL GREEN (5F to 14F) Rode Special Green hard wax (grip wax) for 5F to 14 F. If you're looking for fast, this is it. Can mix this with Green to soften it up and when just a bit more kick might be nice. GREEN (14F to 25F) Rode Green hard wax (grip wax) for 14F to 25 F. Best for low humidities in new and untransformed snow. MULTIGRADE BLUE (20 to 28F) Rode Multigrade Blue hard wax (grip wax) for 20F to 28F. Best in new and untransformed snow. A classic that has been in production for decades, still remaining relevant. In Finland Rex Blue has gained a legendary reputation, just ask any finnish skier! It is used widely as a universal grip wax on cold temperatures. Its grip and glide properties can be adjusted by the thickness of the wax layer. The colder the weather, the thinner the layer.
